Exploring the legacy of the Samaurez Smith/Ambache archive of Choco culture at the PRM.

In 1965 two Cambridge University students ventured upon an expedition to Colombia’s remote Chocó region. The materials from this journey now form part of the Pitt Rivers Museum’s collections. In 2014, curator Alba Colomo and artist Nathaniel Mann returned to the region, staying at Más Arte Más Acción’s Choco Base for three weeks and taking an entire copy of the archive with them. What to see and remember [qué ver y qué recordar] is an ongoing research project. This video is the documentation of their research and response thus far.
